Connecting Aid Foundation “Silos”:Ensuring Lasting Change and Success Through Full Life Cycle Analysis and Coordination of International Projects’ Outcomes
CONCEPT: (CIAMP: Coordinated International Aid Mapping Project)
Foundations and aid agencies around the world focus on specific areas of expertise (“Silos”) to provide short and mid-term solutions to problems in the areas of healthcare, finance, education, technology, environment, and industrial development. These are all impressive, important and critical issues to address.
The questions I’m focused on include: What happens in 10 or 20 years when each project, on its own, is successful in its intentions? What are the success impacts? Who is making sure that a project’s success doesn’t just move the problem along the life cycle and end up as a more significant issue—just in a different format? In real terms, do more people living as a result of a successful malaria project, still face issues of poverty, starvation, and possibly early death anyway if there is not also a proportional increase in food production, education, health care, job opportunities etc.?
The goal of CIAMP is to ensure lasting change and success through the collection, analysis and coordination of international aid projects’ outcomes on full life-cycle basis. The aim is to help insure that investment into aid projects are maximized when evaluated over time.
This project aims to catalog and map all aid projects on a country-by-country basis to identify expected success outcomes and forecast impacts in TERMS OF DECADES. With this comprehensive data, CIAMP will start to identify areas of aid that will be required in 5, 10, or 20 years to ensure sustainability of today’s worthy aid investments.
From what I have found to date, no full scale analysis is in place to help the coordination between foundations/aid agencies over the life cycle of the beneficiaries.
